Students will refine their networking strategies and create marketing documents to position them for success. Mock interviews will provide the opportunity for practice, feedback, and reflection as students prepare for future interviews. Students will explore communication strategies that support workplace success and advancement. By the end of this course, students will have created a personalized career management plan.

Description:

This Scrum essentials course provides fundamental knowledge and principles designed for new Project Managers and IT professionals to increase their understanding of Scrum Principles. Scrum is one of the most widely used project management systems in IT. Starting with establishing a scrum team, students will set the vision for the project, write user stories, complete sprint cycles, produce charts to showcase work progress, and participate in standup meetings. They will also examine the value of interactions to get rapid feedback to ensure the project's success.

In this course, students will learn how the Kanban method can increase the efficiency, collaboration, and transparency of a project and operations teams. Students will learn how to use kanban principles and practices to improve their workflow and performance while bringing out their best work. The central theme of this course will be the method of visualizing the flow of work, limiting work in progress (WIP), and Implementing feedback loops.

Description:

Agile teams face problems in delivering products to their customers. In this course, students will learn how to solve the issues and practical decision-making skills typical to project teams. Students will learn to recognize symptoms of problems and build countermeasures to prevent problems before they occur. Students will also learn to coach and mentor team members to improve collaboration and develop problem-solving skills.

Description:

This capstone project course, a culmination of the program, will combine practical and theoretical knowledge gained within this program to challenge the student to successfully plan and execute an IT Project using the Agile Project Management methodology. Working in small teams and supervised by a faculty member, students will work as Scrum Teams to develop and implement user stories using various artifacts. A faculty will meet regularly with each team to ensure Agile best practices have been followed.
