Our client stories
Aecon Group Inc.
Andrew Ambrose, Director, Learning
Aecon has set solid sustainability targets of 30 per cent emission reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2050. To reach these goals, we recognized the need to close any knowledge gaps around climate science relevant to our targets and activities. We feel that understanding the challenge is critical to getting behind the solution.
We opted for a virtual delivery of the Carbon Literacy Micro-credential program with Conestoga College. It provided insight into Sustainable Development Goals, clarified the science behind climate change, and offered insight into an individual's opportunity for positive impact. Being aligned with the Carbon Literacy Project, recognized by the United Nations, was perfect for our needs.
To date, we have trained dozens of employees at all levels and plan to stay the course. As we move and grow into new geographic regions, our decision to leverage this program and capable delivery by Conestoga was a good choice. These foundational topics have and will continue to provide good context for our employees as we share internal sustainability initiatives and support our journey to net zero.
The Conestoga Custom Training Solutions team has been a great conduit for our partnership with Conestoga. I have always appreciated the candor and welcoming attitude to discussions or problem-solving. I look forward to finding other avenues to expand our partnership in years to come.

Magna International
IoT Academy
Canadian industrial productivity hinges on the ability for local employees to be able to compete in a global market – both from a technology and knowledge perspective. Employee upskilling is one of the major challenges for many Canadian companies – those that ignore the need for continual upskilling often experience employee dissatisfaction, or worse, the loss of highly qualified personnel to other companies that provide professional development opportunities to their employees.
One of the major industry partners for Conestoga College is Magna International, whose Cosma group engaged Custom Training Solutions (CTS) to bridge the gap around employee upskilling through a highly innovative training program called the IoT Academy. The Conestoga team worked with Magna over four months to design both the remote delivered theory curriculum and the in-person capstone experience.
The capstone experience has Magna employees come to the SMART Centre to support hands on training to implement an end-to-end IoT solution including machine communications, data brokerage, database solutions, visualization solutions and containerization.
Let CTS be your custom training partner – connect with us to see how we can quickly and effectively design, implement, and deliver highly customized and effective employee upskill solutions for your company.

GROW
Lori Harding, GROW Incumbent Worker Training Program Lead - Workforce Development
This is our second season working with Conestoga. It was so incredibly successful in the first year that we were very happy to partner again for our 2021/2022 training season!
The leadership training series offered by Conestoga has been the perfect opportunity for our participants to round out their leadership learning outcomes. It is the ideal blend of subjects and timing to supplement our client’s often difficult schedules and very specific areas of interest. There was so much demand that we had to add a second classes to keep up with interest. Our participants love the practical knowledge with applicable exercises they can bring back to their organizations.
Working with the Conestoga team has been an absolute pleasure. They have been collaborative and nimble in a seamless delivery of the virtual sessions. We look forward to working with them for years to come.

DYNA-MIG
Richard Jeronimus, Tech Services Manager
DYNA-MIG has been working closely with Conestoga to develop a custom 32-hour welding / robotics training course for our robotic technicians. The course began in October 2021 and we have successfully completed three sessions to date.
Working with the college on the development, planning, and delivery of training was a pleasure. The training instructor worked with us one-on-one over a series of web meetings to tailor the content to our business’s needs and was very flexible to our requests. He was very knowledgeable in welding and robotics and was able to provide information and suggestions to help with the development of the course.
As stated above, we have completed three training sessions so far. Each time a session ends, Conestoga is always willing to take feedback as well as make recommendations and changes for future cohorts. The training that we designed has elements of both theory and practical. Our associates have expressed that this training was delivered professionally, and is beneficial to their everyday job.
