Program description - May 2026

Computer-aided design (CAD) programs are an integral component of the rapidly growing field of additive manufacturing. These skills are being used in manufacturing and design fields, as well as for a variety of small business entrepreneurial activities. In this one-year Ontario College Certificate program, you will learn to create and alter CAD drawings and to produce 3D prints from your CAD models. Emphasis is placed on developing and printing CAD models of objects, components, and assemblies based on blueprints and schematics. You will gain hands-on experience both individually and in groups using current cloud-based drafting software and Conestoga's multi-faceted 3D Printing Lab. You will also learn to apply additive manufacturing principles to projects and entrepreneurial start-ups giving you the skills required for entry-level positions in industrial additive manufacturing or to establish a small business using 3D printing technology.
