Data Analytics

Description: Every business needs its data analyzed and turned into useful information. In this course, students will practice data manipulation and modelling to present information based on industry standards. Using typical software found in business, we will apply various features to examine data sets in order to draw conclusions about the information they contain.

SQL and Data Analysis

Description: Identification of relevant metric points and how to gather, manipulate, format, and present data as valuable information to the end-user is essential to modern business operations. This course will provide students with the opportunity to perform data analysis using SQL at an intermediate level with an emphasis on enterprise and open-source SQL systems. Students will explore the structure of databases, schemas and relations, data tables and how to leverage SQL to extract, load and transform data in relation to business-driven results that support decision-making.

Description: Project management has become central to the operations of any organization. This course focuses on the general principles of project management as well as Agile Project Management and its methodologies. This course takes a holistic, integrated approach to managing projects, exploring both technical and managerial challenges. Students will apply skills gathered from examining real-world cases into simulated projects done in the classroom. This course will help prepare students to write the Project Management Institute (PMI) exams to become a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

Mock interviews will provide the opportunity for practice, feedback, and reflection as students prepare for future interviews. Descriptive analysis is at the foundation of all data insight and answers the “what happened” question by summarizing past data. Students will complete case studies using data sets from different major areas of business operations to produce Descriptive Analytics knowledge useful to decision makers. Diagnostic Analysis

Description:

Diagnostic analysis takes the insights found from descriptive analytics and drills down to find the causes of those outcomes. Students will practice diagnostic analysis with a variety of case studies using best practices such as conducting process/system analysis, critical thinking, data extraction, regression analysis, model building, and data mining. Recent history of diagnostic analytics and the events' impacts on business and society will be explored.
