Program description - September 2025

The Conestoga College Bachelor of Science - Nursing (Honours) degree prepares graduates to provide care that is relevant, connected, and responsive to the evolving needs of the people for whom they provide care. The program takes a contemporary approach to nursing education delivery, with courses and learning experience designed to address the most pressing issues in healthcare today. While we value and emphasize the scientific basis of nursing practice, in health, the importance of relationships cannot be understated - relational practice is a hallmark of nursing at Conestoga. Extensive hands-on clinical learning opportunities will provide students with strong foundations in nursing practice, across a variety of settings and client ages.

With multiple pathways for degree completion, we invite applicants who are coming from high school, who have completed previous nursing studies or diplomas, or have undertaken previous university work to enter the program directly. The program is designed so that applicants who are Registered Practical Nurses or who have completed previous university studies can enter the program directly with advanced standing, without the need for bridging semesters.

Conestoga College is a member of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing.

The new Conestoga College Baccalaureate Nursing Program (Bachelor of Science - Nursing Honours) has preliminary approval by the College of Nurses of Ontario (www.cno.org). Graduates from this program are eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Nurse in Ontario.

In preparation to pursuing a nursing career, we encourage all prospective nursing students to carefully consider the requisite skills and abilities for nursing practice in Ontario outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Note:

  • This is a highly competitive program. Apply by February 1 (for September). See oversubscribed programs for more information.
  • Students living outside of Ontario are not eligible to apply.
