Program description - September 2025

The program curriculum is designed for students who wish to concentrate on the health sciences field and prepares students for application to Conestoga's advanced diploma or degree health programs (Medical Laboratory Sciences, Massage Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Paramedic, Bachelor of Applied Biotechnology, Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science, Bachelor of Environmental Public Health, Bachelor of Science - Nursing). Using a combination of theoretical and practical learning opportunities, students will be introduced to the health sciences field, college life and workload, and will be able to increase their competitiveness to support their application to the health sciences programs listed above. In addition to the advanced diploma and degree programs, students successfully completing this advanced pre-health pathway are also eligible to apply to health sciences one-year certificate or two-year diploma programs (see Pre-Health Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas description for a full list).

 

Note:

  • Note for domestic students: Upon successful completion of the Pre-Health Sciences program, students may apply to Conestoga College's School of Health Sciences advanced diploma or degree programs (Respiratory Therapy, Paramedic, McMaster University Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science degree, etc.), as well as to the health sciences diploma programs.
  • Note for international students: the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees is a pathway for international students interested in studying in either the Bachelor of Applied Biotechnology degree or the Bachelor of Environmental Public Health degree ONLY. Students interested in studying in a health science-related two-year diploma program should apply to the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas. Please check the International Program Listing to confirm program availability. Not all programs are available to international students.
