Program description - January 2027

Start your automotive career with Conestoga's Motive Power Fundamentals - Automotive Repair certificate.

If you're a high school graduate who loves working on cars or being around automotive technology, Conestoga's one-year Motive Power Fundamentals - Automotive Repair certificate is your fast track to a career in the skilled trades. This Ontario college program provides Level 1 apprenticeship training and prepares you for entry into the automotive service industry.

You'll train in more than 20,000 square feet of combined shop space, learning safe and effective procedures for using tools, machinery and diagnostic equipment. With a strong focus on hands-on learning, you'll build the technical skills needed to service and repair vehicles, while also gaining foundational knowledge in business and career development. Graduates may qualify for exemption from the Level 1 in-school portion of the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship.
