Program description

This two week program will provide one week of hands on learning on-campus in the electrical trade and one week of related safety training for the workplace. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the electrical trade, gain foundational theoretical and practical skills to gain the confidence needed to pursue this trade. The first week will also include relevant content to prepare women to pursue employment and/or an apprenticeship within the electrical field. The second week will include related safety training so that the participants can obtain various trade certifications with a focus on safety, from a certified trainer. This will give participants a distinct advantage when they seek employment as employers have a strong hiring preference for applicants who are already certified in areas of safety.
