Program description

This two-week, cost free, program will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn about the carpentry trade. You will spend one week in the shop, learning key concepts, how to safely use tools and equipment, while developing your hands-on skills as you complete basic projects. Also during this time you will be connected with a community of female mentors and you will learn about the different pathways into the skilled trades. In the second week, you will be with a certified safety trainer, earning various safety certifications (such as mandated Working At Heights). This will not only help you ensure a safe workplace for yourself and others, but will give you an advantage as employers have a strong hiring preference for applicants who are already certified in areas of safety. Apply now and take this first step to a well-paying, challenging and rewarding career!
