Did you know you could save up to 50 - 75 per cent off the cost of textbooks by renting them rather than buying them? This means that if your textbooks were to cost you $1,000 to purchase brand new, you could potentially save $500 - $750 by renting them.
You will be able to rent select textbooks in-store or online. Please note that the online and in-store rental services offer different benefits/features, and thus different pricing.
When you rent in-store, you’ll get to use a brand new book and any accompanying access/digital codes all semester. To find out which books are available for in-store rental, look for the purple shelf tags throughout the Bookstore.
Follow these three steps to rent textbooks in-store:
- Bring the book(s) you would like to rent to the rental kiosk in the store.
- On the rental system, you will create an account with our affiliate, Textbookrental.ca, and enter your payment information. Please note, at this time, credit cards are the only accepted form of payment for in-store rentals.
- Once payment has been approved, we will package up your rental and you can leave with your rented book and extra money to spend elsewhere.
At the end of the semester, you can either return the book(s) back to the Bookstore or ship it back to textbookrental.ca. You will need to access your account and print off either a return confirmation or shipping label, respectively.
If you have questions regarding in-store rentals, please contact the Bookstore at 519-748-5220 ext. 3241 or email@example.com
Through your personal booklist, which can be accessed by logging in to the Student Portal, you’ll be able to see which textbooks have online rental options. If your textbooks are available for rent, you will be provided with the rental pricing.
To rent, just click on the rent button and follow the prompts to enter your information and payment.
When you rent online, your books will be shipped directly to your home. At the end of the semester, you’ll ship it back to textbookrental.ca with the shipping label provided.
Please note online rentals will only provide you with a textbook. If you are required to purchase a bundle package with an access/digital code, you will have to purchase this separately.
